Commissions: Artwork

Artwork: Basic Information

I will do: Sketches, lineart, colors, full illustrations, traditional or digital media, single characters, groups, landscapes, animals, tasteful/artistic nudity, fanart, original characters, and other original works.
I will not do: Draw furries, sexually explicit works (with very, very few exceptions), or anything hateful.

For traditional artwork, you will receive both a digital scan (or photo, depending on size) of your item, as well as the physical item itself. For larger (over 11×14″) or heavier pieces, a shipping fee will incur depending on cost. Smaller(11×14″ and under)/lightweight pieces will ship for free. While I will do my best to ensure that all pieces are safely packaged, I take no responsibility for damage incurred during shipping. For the time being, I will only ship heavy and large (over 12×9″) pieces to the US. Smaller and lightweight pieces I am happy to ship worldwide, but I am not responsible for any customs/postal fees incurred by your country’s postal service. Payment must be made in full before I send the completed work.

For digital artwork, you will receive a high resolution digital file. If you would like a physical print, I can arrange it for an additional fee. All progress images will be sent low-resolution and watermarked. Payment must be made in full before I send the completed work.

If you are requesting artwork of an original character, please send me as detailed a description of your character is possible–body type, hair and eye color, hair and clothing styles, any weapons they may have, and even a bit about their personality: are they the type to slouch? Are they very prim and proper? This is all very helpful. If you have any reference images, please be sure to include those as well.

My rights, and your rights:

  1. Unless agreed upon otherwise, I maintain the right to display any artwork I create for you via physical gallery (as a print or photograph), this website (rhythmic-high.net), and social media for portfolio purposes. You will be credited as commissioner if you desire.
  2. Unless agreed upon otherwise, I will not resell any artwork I create for you via other means (prints, stickers, and so forth).
  3. Unless agreed upon otherwise, you may not use my artwork for commercial or any other profitable purposes. To do so requires express written consent.
  4. Once you’ve paid for your piece, it’s yours. You may use it for whatever purposes you see fit (editing for online avatars, creating a website header, posting on your website, and so forth), with the above exception. If posted publicly, I would appreciate (though I do not require) a link back to this website or my corresponding social media account.

Artwork: Digital Media

Costs for digital media mostly depend on complexity. Default canvas size is 4×6″ unless otherwise requested.

  • Sketches: A flat $4 for a single character, regardless of style (bust, full body, and so forth).
  • Lineart (may include light shading): Starting at $5 for a single character bust (add $3 for each additional character up to two), $10 for a single character full body (add $4 for each additional character up to two). Groups of more than three start at $20. Backgrounds can be added to any piece for an additional fee depending on complexity. We can hash this out when we talk.
  • Lineart with Flat Colors: Add $10 to the price of each item listed in the lineart section.
  • Lineart with Shading/Modeling: Add $15 to the price of each item listed in the lineart section.
  • Lineless work (Modeling): Add $20 to the price of each item listed in the lineart section.

Artwork: Traditional media

I work with a wide variety of materials, and because the working time and cost of materials varies so much, so do the prices. The media I work with most frequently are: pencil/graphite, charcoal/conte crayon, colored pencil, ink (dip pen and ink pen), alcohol marker (Copic and Prismacolor), watercolor, and acrylic paint. I will also work with mixed media.

Costs will depend on the size and complexity of the piece, and the medium used. An acrylic painting will cost more than a pencil sketch. While the prices listed below are not solid (we can hash it out when we talk), they should serve as a baseline. Prices to not include backgrounds unless otherwise specified. Please note I am not including prices for all mediums, so if one is not listed here, please feel free to ask! In addition, prices are based on a figure-centric image, so if you would like something else (abstract, a landscape, and so forth), please contact me and we may discuss it.

  • PENCIL:
The default size for most pencil work is 8.5×11″ or 12×9″. If you would like a piece that is larger, an additional small fee will be applied.

    • Illustration: Includes a background, modeling, and shading. Starting at $20 for a single character full body (add $8 for each additional character up to two).
  • INK:
The default size for most ink work is 8.5×11″ or 12×9″. If you would like a piece that is larger, an additional small fee will be applied. Ink work is done in black ink by default, but other colors such as red, blue, or white (on black/grey paper) can be used instead. Please specify.

    • Sketches: A flat $6 for a single character, regardless of style (bust, full body, and so forth).
    • Lineart (may include light shading): Starting at $8 for a single character bust (add $4 for each additional character up to two), and $12 for a single character full body (add $5 for each additional character up to two). Groups of more than three start at $25. Backgrounds can be added to any piece for an additional fee depending on complexity. We can hash this out when we talk.
    • Illustrations: Includes a background, modeling, and shading. Starting at $30 for a single character full body (add $10 for each additional character up to two).
  • MARKER:
The default size for most marker work is 8.5×11″ or 12×9″. As markers deplete quickly and are costly to refill and replace, I will not do pieces larger than 12×9″ unless you are willing to pay cost of replacement materials.

    • Marker, no background: All marker work starts with inked lineart as its base unless otherwise requested. Starting at $10 for a single character bust (add $5 for each additional character up to two), $15 for a single character full body (add $6 for each additional character up to two). Groups of more than than three start at $30.
    • Marker, simple background: A “simple” background is defined as a plain color or background items (such as a tree, chair, or landscape) that are not highly detailed or well-defined. Starting at $15 for a single character bust (add $6 for each additional character up to two), and $20 for a single character full body (add $8 for each additional character up to two). Groups of more than three start at $40.
    • Marker, complex background (Illustration): A “complex” background is defined as a background that is highly detailed and may include a lot of various elements. Starting at $50 for a single character full body (add $10 for each additional character up to two.)
  • ACRYLIC:
As paint type and canvas size can vary widely, please send me an email via the Contact Form with your idea and we can work out a price.
